Hi, regarding the choppy playback in CS4. This is a bug in the catalyst drivers.

Downgrade to Catalyst 9.10 . The choppy playback is caused by a bug in the drivers later than >9.12. 9.11 is fine, but as the win7 64bit link is broken on the ATI site, (9.11 win7 64bit links to xp 64bit) try 9.10 .

You will see it will work… Many people have the same problem. ATI still has been reluctant to fix this.

I have the same problem and i run version 3.2, registered. Thank god, it doesn’t happen all the time though. Just once in a while.

  • Thanks. I was trying this too, but i am stuck on the mask part. When i apply a mask and draw around white part of the image it is moving along with the text. I don’t really understand what is going on.

Do you know how i can do this step by step?

I have the same problems. It used to work on old computer, but not anymore after i upgraded to a quad core

AE7 gives these problems. But luckily AE CS3 doesn’t, so i can still use my old projects.

Thanks, but i read that wiki before. I don’t want to buy the mainconcept plugin, because it used to work fine without any plugin. Plus, it is no use to convert the mpeg2 files to avi, because then the projects will be useless as well. I need to get the old project files working.

However, i have fixed the issue. I discovered for some weird reason the media cache directory was read only, so Premiere v2 could not write cache files to hd. It would have saved me a lot of hassle if premiere just told me what was wrong instead of trying to write massive amounts of index files.

I have demuxed the mpeg2 file and it’s the m2v (video) which is giving problems. The mpa/mp2 (audio) imports fine. The .m2v is also stuck in an endless loop.
