[Esben Holm] “Went back to 10.9.2 by Time Machine and I am now able to work, but it is still not up to hardcore 4k and grading as Aple proclaim. Both Aple, AMD and Adobe has a responsibility here. Get your smartest heads together and bring us down in one piece.”

I’m having the same issues… It’s incredible, I feel like they designed this monster machine, put it out in the wild and now abandoned it.
I have barely been able to use the GPU for anything, since almost no software is able to properly tap those cards.

The latest frustrating experience was regarding FCPx: I purchased a license of neat video for fcp x (even thoug I already had one for after effects, but I thought it would properly utilize the GPUs in fcp).
Turns out – yes it does use the gpus, but is then slower than without them, and overall neat video in fcp x is not able to use even halve of the CPU horsepower in this machine. CPUs are at 25% and the whole cleaning process took like three times as long as in after effects.

Frustrating! Get on this apple, and adobe, please fix this glitch. I’ll open up a ticket now.

  • I’m curious about the same question! Although a red rocket is out of my budget, I just got my new Mac Pro and am wondering, how it compare to a system with a rocket just using the new gpu optimization in Rcx!

I can play back 1/2 res epic footage in rcx, but in resolve I have to go down to 1/4 in order for it to play back in RT…

  • Yes of course, but I find I create a better looking toon effect with red giant toonit. It’s not about this effect though, but about the canvas that’s supposed to be linked to my character’s surface somehow…

  • reinstalled fcp 7 studio -> No effect!

  • It’s so frustrating! I’m having the exact same problem..
It’s not just about ProRes not being there, the entire quicktime output module is missing in AME.
I read a lot about it, and usually it seems to be somehow influenced by the kind of install you have. Like if you only install flash, and AME is installed with it, you won’t get quicktime. But if you install the entire Master Collection, it should be there, but just isnt.

I’m having a thread in the adobe forums, but no one came up with a solution there neither…
Trying to reinstall FCP 7 now!

I have the exact same problem! In the Rippe Training it says – and shows that the selection range should be displayed correctly when hitting shift-f even in list view. But it only works in filmstrip view, which is close to being useless. Has to be a bug…also my touch gestures simply wont work… very annoying!

haha you’re right about the choice of words 😀

a very lucky coincidence solved the problem for me, all the data streams i have to animate have to float in both directions…. so i can in fact just use vegas lol,

    but thx anyway! 🙂

I should add: one of the problems, using a simple stroke and applying a vegas effect on it, is that vegas if in “use image outline” mode will create a stream running AROUND the stroke not just one directional, and if in “use mask” mode, it wont do anything at all actually als long as the mask is not closed, or is at least being closed once. That was actually the only way i found so far, closing the mask, and then opening it again, but that’s not an option, since I have too many strokes involved…
