I’ve tried searching but to no avail….

Does anyone know how to disable the scroll zoom in AE? I got this “fancy” & “cool” (yeah…) mouse from apple and any time I swipe the thing it flies in or out of my comp. I know other people are frustrated by this, just wondering if any has found a solution.

This is a mouse question, not an AE question, so it really belongs in the mouse forum. However, the mouse preference panel in system prefs will give you control over the buttons and scroll ball.

You need to be looking at the SYSTEM prefs.

Yeah I know that would work…but that’s not the ideal fix; having to change that every time I open/close AE. And I know…shouldn’t have got this mouse. but it happened so …

Tyler — if you are lamenting the fact that you got this mouse, simply disable the scroll ball in system prefs, and it’s as if you got the more primitive mouse. Except that you always have the option of re-enabling the scroll ball if you change your mind…

Tyler – I feel your frustration. I just purchased a new Microsoft Wireless Mouse 5000 and it does crazy things in AE. Updating the driver, changing settings etc. does nothing. No fix as far as I can see, and I am not alone in my dismay at this.

Little consolation is that the mouse also acts strange in Sony Vegas. Something has changed in the mouse operation and it’s a mystery as to what exactly this is. Sorry, just venting along with you.

Buy a Kensington Trackball or a Wacom. That’ll solve the problem.

Please do away with scroll-to-zoom, as this is NOT a useful function. Says me.

Yeah I have the exact same problem.
I really don’t want to shut off my mouse functionality for anything other than AE.
So doing so through system prefs. seems very debilitating. I want preferences in AE or for Apple to fix their goddamn mouse that keeps zooming into infinity every time my finger twitches…
