You nailed it! Don’t waste the time and/or money. There was only one other creative in the group I was invited to, and he was actually from an ad agency I did production work for! Neither one of us got a decent lead in over 6 months… It was a different story for the insurance agents and massage therapists though.

Yes, contrary to Noah’s obvious bias, I have only used the FS-100 on both the HVX-200 and HPX-170, and have never even touched a P2 card on either camera. I have never had a problem with the FS-100s (I own two) unless the settings were mismatched between the camera and the unit, or someone pulled out or stressed the FW cable. I must also say however that I have never shot any SD footage to the FS. The reason I bought the Panny cameras and the FS-100 was to do HD production. My feeling is that the camera operator should never have shot in the tape mode using the FS. Out of almost three years of posts on this and the FS forum, I would say 99.9% of all FS complaints are operator error, simply not reading simple instructions, and testing the unit and workflow before your shoot. And if you are shooting SD, just use the %@*&% tape drive! It is also very good to see Michael sharing the “FS slamming patrol duty” and giving correct versus knee-jerk reactions to FS issues and “problems.”

It sounds like you are trying to install a MAC version of CS4 on a Windows machine. That won’t work.

Actually it is not normal, that is the point.
I know 20 people (even in my small market) that own HVX-200s and they haven’t had a lick of trouble with any one of them. If you would have bought from a local authorized Panasonic dealer in the first place you wouldn’t be having your “lemon” problem. If your case wasn’t the very rare exception, versus the overwhelming norm, you might get a little sympathy here. Believe me, if there was a problem with a lot of the HVX-200s, you would have heard about it a long time ago on this very forum. This actually sounds like a take off of a company that does advertise for “video real estate work.” The tip off is the “deposit” wanted to have the “privilege” of working their “leads” for them, and the tons of personal info requested to sign their contract. And the pay offered is painfully similar!

And Combustion with Particle Illusion is also quite powerful in the particle project creation category…

The HMC-150 is an excellent (and economical) choice for B camera for the hvx-200, hvx-200A or the HPX170. I recommend it highly.
