I installed yesterday and all FCP and 3rd party plug-ins, capture cards etc. working fine. It seems to have boosted speed on a lot of Apple apps as well. It is a huge “patch” at almost 500MB.

Although I have never used a 3000, you should just be able to hook up the units via firewire and match the format and record settings you want on the FS-100 and the 3000.

Yes Apple’s tardiness on Snow Leopard and a serious FCP upgrade is disconcerting indeed. AJA, MATROX, Panasonic, Sony Vegas etc. all with fantastic NAB new shipping products and advances, and Apple and FCP, still stuck in the dark ages…. Maybe another “faddy” version of ipod or iphone this year….

Actually the P2 problems and people’s difficulty with the P2 workflow outnumber the FS issues about 99% to 1%. And both set of problems are usually user error. The bright note on the horizon is the new 64 Gig P2 2nd generation cards coming out in August for less than a grand! Panasonic is finally getting smart. With these cards at this price and capacity, the FS will eventually fade away anyway.
