Apple Motion Equivalant For PC
Posted by Bob Blouin on March 19, 2009 at 12:50 amWhat are your thoughts or recommendation to do on the PC what Apple’s Motion does. I want to do that glittery particle stuff you see in the opening of The Closer, Saving Grace, Leverage. I love Vegas and don’t really want to buy a Mac even though Vista 64 is a pain in my butt.
Thanks….

March 19, 2009 at 8:16 amHi,
a layer-based motion graphic equivalent is without doubt After Effects.
There are particles in lastest versions and for versions before the particles engine was implemented, there are particle plugin like Particular which you could give a try.Cheers,
David

March 19, 2009 at 2:39 pmAE has great particles, but to be clear; it’s NOTHING like Apple’s Motion. Motion is the sole reason I carry a dual boot MBP. Motion is organic, if that’s possible for a software app. AE is very deliberate and is not a part of the creative process (although it is significantly better in CS4.
Particle Illusion is another app for particles, BTW.Douglas Spotted Eagle

March 20, 2009 at 1:09 amThanks to all for your suggestions.
Douglas,
I just finished watching all the VASST Vegas training videos and you seem like a cool guy to hang out with 🙂 What type of MacPro? 15 or 16 inch, hard drive, memory etc. I hate to spend the money on a Mac plus the cost of Apple Studio(I don’t think I can buy Motion on separately) after just buying a custom pc powerhouses from Velocity Micro but maybe its time I just bit the bullet.
Thanks again.
