As another former edit*or, I have the same question as Alex, just phrased differently.

If I set a key frame on the first frame of a clip, what is easiest way to get to the last frame of the same clip (so I can set a final keyframe)?

Is it: Arrow Down (next edit) then Left Arrow (last frame of previous edit)?

June 28, 2009 at 8:18 pm in reply to: Pro Titler – lock/group text blocks?

Thanks Mike, but within the Pro Titler window I can’t seem to select multiple text blocks using Shift or Alt or Ctrl.

I guess I could I create separate tracks with separate events (one for the dates and one for “th”s) then animate using Pan/Crop.

For now I’m just eyeballing the distance at the first and last keyframe, kept the motion to x axis only, and prayed for luck.

If it doesn’t look right, I’m going to export and build the titles in Combustion.

Depending on how much you want to spend there are a wide variety of ways to accomplish 8mm or Super 8mm telecine (transfer of film to tape).

I’ve used a couple of outside services for my transfers, but I’ve also looked at the machines offered on ebay, and some of the do-it-yourself guides on the web.

    A couple of links:

    https://www.bealecorner.com/trv900/filmtrans.html

google searches for ‘super 8 transfer how to’ or ‘super 8 telecine’ yield even more results. I’ve had the best luck searching google with my camera model + super 8 (eg. TRV900 super 8) since it gave step by step suggestions for my camera and filtered out all the third party services.

I’ve used the re vision fx smooth kit for select shots in the past:

very helpful, but maybe not for a huge batch of raw reels. Also, not native to Avid..need AE or Combustion.

Your idea of doing a tape-to-tape color correction in a telecine suite, while expensive, would probably be the fastest way.

Marisu Fronc had mentioned similar problems with PPro in passing on one of her edit* board posts…she may have some ideas for you, since she’s probably working in a similar dedicated video network environment.
