Hi Matt,
For the Tascam HD-P2, when you connect via Firewire to the Mac, does it show up as a hard drive and you can just copy the data to the local hard disk ?

I would also like to add that I’ve experienced frame accurate inserts with the new 6.5.1 driver and FCP 6.0.1 on a PAL DigiBeta VTR. Just straight out of the driver, no meddling with settings at all. I did about 5-6 insert edits at different tape location and they were very accurate.
Will try again today to see if it remains the same.

I just helped to upgrade a system to FC Studio 2 with Decklink Extreme and I updated to the latest 6.5.1 and did a number of insert edit tests to check on the accuracy and it was spot on on every attempt. I did not have to meddle with the deck control settings in FCP. The VTR is a DigiBeta DVW-A500P (I’m in PAL land) and we fed it with component video and analog audio from the Decklink card. Why not SDI ? The VTR SDI input kept flashing and we are trying to figure that one out.
I just did a check on the VTR and there’s reference going in but not to the Decklink card but still the insert edits were accurate. I’ve since fed a reference to the Decklink card…it wasn’t me Bob….it wasn’t me…it was that guy….that guy !!!
Not sure if your problem is NTSC related but I’m working in PAL over here.
Hope this helps.

October 16, 2007 at 12:27 am in reply to: Decklink 6.4 and 6.5.1 Windows and Premiere 1.5.1I forgot to add that the display problem in 6.4 and 6.5.1 drivers only happens when I use the PAL 8bit codec…if I capture them as PAL DV, the problem doesn’t show up.

What about working everything in 720p and then put the 720p timeline into a 1080 timeline and let FCP6 play it back via the new mixed timeline format feature ?
I suppose I would need the fastest Mac Pro to achieve any reliable playback and even with the fastest Mac Pro, is it reliable to playback a timeline that’s about 30mins long ?

Hi,
Will the lowest model of the MacBook Pro be ok for IoHD, especially if we need to playout a 8bit/10bit HD uncompressed timeline out of the IoHD.
Thanks,

Hi,
It would be great if you can let us know what is the configuration of the MacBook Pro and Mac Pro that will be capable of supporting DVCProHD (injest and playout) and uncompressed HD playout.
Thanks,

Hi…I’m in PAL land and we’ve set up Kona LHes and Kona 3s with the AJA HDP converter which goes to an Apple 23inch LCD monitor to work in both SD and HD 1080/50i PAL. The Kona 3 is fed with a standard PAL black burst reference as we’re only working in 25fps.
No sparkles or any of the issues as Rory has reported.

September 6, 2007 at 8:23 am in reply to: 720/59.94P editing in 59.94fps or 29.97fps?Hi Charlie,
Do you mean when exporting the Quicktime clip, indicate the frame rate as 29.97 ?
The audio needs to be exported as an OMF Audio for the Pro Tools guy…is there a way to indicate the audio as 29.97 in the OMF Audio ?

Hi Dino,
Is it possible to transcode DNxHD MXF to Uncompressed HD MXF on an Adrenaline ? I’m trying to see if I can export a DNxHD timeline out as AAF but with Uncompressed HD MXF media instead of DNxHD.
