Hi Christopherk,
If you figure out a way to trigger recording via GPI-RS422 conversion with the AJA VTR Exchange, appreciate if you can share it here as it can open up interesting projects opportunities for us.

Hi David,
Yes most likely they are connected to the keyboard’s USB port. Well in their case the mouse just disappeared in the middle of working in FCP and not when the screensaver kicked in. Or perhaps the mouse could’ve wandered into one of the assigned corner of the screen which triggers the screensaver.
I’ll ask them to move the mouse to the CPU’s USB port and see if things improve.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Hey Wally,
Well in my case both monitors are the same brand, size and resolution. So far this symptom has been reported to me on two different systems and am trying to figure out what might be triggering the problem.

February 19, 2007 at 3:03 pm in reply to: DPX, Aja DPXtoQT, GlueTools, what the best 2K workflow?Check out Silverstack from Pomfort : https://pomfort.com/silverstack/
You can use this application to batch convert your 2K DPX files into Quicktime movie files using any codecs and it will embed the DPX timecode into the Quicktime timecode so you can convert using PhotoJPEG codec for offline editing, which is still excellent in picture quality, consume less storage space and you don’t need a high speed RAID.
But best part is that you can linearise your DPX files when converting to the Quicktime movie files and it can also burn timecode, clip name…etc. info into the Quicktime movie files.
Go check it out, it’s what you’re looking for. And it has just officially launched so you’re in luck !

You may also want to update to the latest version of XServeRAID Admin and firmware as it now remembers the cache flush settings whereas in the past it defaults back to ON if you re-power the XServeRAID unit.

February 4, 2007 at 8:03 am in reply to: Converting LOG Cineon Image Seq to Linear Quicktime File using Kona 3..Try SilverStack from Pomfort : https://pomfort.com/silverstack/
I can’t exactly remember if it allows you to specify a LUT but it can linearize your LOG files through a LOG-LIN toggle but this application does a whole lot more. If you need to batch convert DPX LOG files to Quicktime, you need to seriously check this application out. It will even allow you to burn info such as the DPX frame number, timecode, name…etc onto your Quicktime movie files. Great for file based workflow.
However this application is still on beta and you can download the latest Beta 2 to try out. It should hit the shelf pretty soon.

Check the Expansion Slot Utility which is in the Systems/CoreServices folder. Make sure the slot where you have installed the Kona LHe card is not set to x1. It must be set to x4 minimum.
I recently had an issue as well and it turned out that the slot was set to x1 and it could not play out a HD-SDI signal properly even though it was DVCProHD. It was ok to play out SD but there weren’t enough juice at x1 to play out HD.

December 21, 2006 at 3:06 pm in reply to: On-the-fly error in Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0Hi Martin,
I am very sure that I am using the Decklink’s RS422 control coz that is the only RS422 on the system.
I will try Firewire tomorrow and see if the same message shows up.
