Peter any chance of getting in on the Beta? I know you guys are running around like nuts at NAB so I know I may not hear back anything till later. Just seeing what you guys had planed for last min. testing. We are a current version 7 shop.

I think i liked how another CC company handed it.. they used it as a prep station for its main product.. it really didn’t have all the features to be a low end version .. you needed to final on the other product.
Trying now to remember who that was. I want to say light version of flame?
    Or something?

Is anyone else a bit worried that there is a free version Resolve Lite? 2 node limit but has the multilayer time line and xml etc limits on nodes and no 2k/4k res. also none of the noise reduction stuff. But still 2 nodes and HD res.. 1gpu.. Seems too close of a free solution to the indie crowd… Good for them bad for us maybe?

Yeah you should be able to create a subtractive matte and track the person walking though the shot. which will subtract from the gradient one.

My mercury engine says its hardware accelerated with out using the monitors attached.
i have this setup for DaVinci only. So its the ATI card with the 2 monitors and the 4000 with nothing attached. Seems to detect it fine here.

It would be lovely if i could do that all the time. but question.. 1. how do they reconstruct the edit on the way back? there are no handles to use? all you have is the final footage pieces in one long mov file once cut up… they won’t be able to re-insert transitions? etc.. lest i’m forgetting something?

Still editors esp. ones in primere that can edit h.264 directly.. what is your workflow when you get the clips? “they wont’ have any reel name and maybe not timecode. This is just a royal pain in the ass! I fumbled with QTchange and finally got close but.. still. as we get more and more indie productions this will be more and more an issue.
