Well then, with your limited option I would try:

720X480 (NTSC) 4X3I don’t know if your in PAL or NTSC or Other land.
Also, Widescreen? or not…You’ll take another quality bump as iDVD will have to convert to mpeg2.

Lighting, Lighting, Lighting.
I downloaded your clip and looked at it.
It does not look bad, it does not seem like you have a prob with the camera.It’s poor lighting. And poor camera handling.
Shooting in a darker hotel hall will be fine b/c u’ll have lighting on the stage.
But you might want to learn more about the camera settings and what to tweak and what to use to get a picture more to your liking.
Go out side and shoot some pretty stuff using a tripod.

OK, so set your video specs in premiere to match what you shot.
DV NTSC 48k for example.
