That is correct. DVCPROHD is a “Thin Raster” format.
Ingesting to Prores will not really gain you any quality.
When making final output or master, you’ll have a full 720p file.Chris

It will take a long time going from HD to SD, Compressor is slow.
I would NOT de-interlace or go progressive UNLESS your HD material is progressive.

APP will edit the files as they are, just import them into your proj.

If you are creating a DVD video; You need to create DVD compliant files (mpeg2) adjust data rate to fit.
If you are creating a DVD DATA disc, it won’t work.

I too prefer NOT to add a compression step by stopping by CineForm.
But, NO, I do not get smooth play back in APP, I have to render first.Chris
