Also, read up on what files work better for youtube on their website.
They tell you what files work best – compress to that.
We have presets in Compression Software Episode we name utube and drop it in. Quick and easy.

Yes, it can be done. Choose DV NTSC 48K from the easy setup menu.
Then, as u said, turn off deck control (non-controllable device)

Now, S-Video only carries video. U need to run an audio signal into the converter as well. Does the camera have RCA audio out? It should.

Run A/V from the Hi8 to the converter. Then run Firewire from the converter to the mac. Have it setup b/4 u launch FCP. Launch Capture.

If this does not work, Run the Hi8 thru a DV Deck or DV Camera the same way.

If this does not work, dub the Hi8 footage to DV tape first then capture as usual.

Well, if DVDSP builds the Disc and it plays on the comp then there is nothing wrong with the files. Compressor is doing the correct job for you. I would look @ the media u r using for ur discs and compatibility with the DVD players

We always create a High Rez version for print. .PSD .EPS .TIF .TGA
Then you have it to print on Discs, Labels, etc.

    THEN,

Dumb it down for video use with a 72dpi version .tif .tga or .png for use in FCP

IF all u do is simple stuff and the lite version does all u need?
    Then no.

Getting a deal on an older version of the pro app is a Good buy – Yes.
Then you can proceed to upgrade as needed @ the upgrade rate.
