You really have to look @ what you’re going to video?
If you can live with the limitations of DSLR’s and video.
The images are amazing I know.
If you can hang tight another 8-15months, I think some of the big video players are going to jump in on this and provide great cams that are made for video and have that large sensor like the DSLR’s

That being said, there is a Ti DSLR Cameras that is cheaper yet…

CD audio is 44.1k ur project is probably 48k, Normally this won’t stop u from importing/playing, just creates the need for rendering.

Launch, soundtrack pro, bring in audio tracks and one by one export them to

a new file; 48k, 16bit, stereo

and then bring those into FCP.
Should cure the problem.

I’d have to say that it really depends on who your sending this to.

My choice is widescreen/letterbox for SD deliverables.

If you’re doing a “center punch” with the 16X9 footage – that is to say you’re filling the 4X3 screen w/ 16X9 footage then yes, you have to be mindful of action/title safe for 4 by 3.

The best route I believe is to shoot and edit 16X9 and if u need to provide a 4by3 then make it letterbox. This is on TV everywhere these days. Letterbox.

You ur unsure of the deliverables and don’t want to contact all the stations – I would go with BetaSP – SD – Widescreen – Letterbox. Just about all broadcast facilities have/had/still use Beta SP format. It’s Broadcast.

SO, output quicktime movie from your timeline, current settings.
Leave the box “make self-contained” UN-checked – this makes a reference movie file.

Drop the ref file into compressor and make a 10 bit uncompressed SD file.
Re-import, wait, do you have a Card in your edit sys? AJA, Kona? Decklink? Then you could just output a SD copy on the fly…

If not, compress to a SD file w/ compressor. Import new file into FCP, drop into same settings Timeline, edit to tape w/ bars, black and countdown. Times 20
