No P2 card. How to shoot??
Posted by Tony Lugo on May 21, 2010 at 6:31 pmHello, I have an hpx500 with no p2 card. I was told that you can still shoot using final cut. Is this possible and how do I do it? Hope all is well,

May 21, 2010 at 10:12 pmYou’d need an HD-SDI capture card- AJA or Blackmagic for example. But I’d suggest getting P2 cards instead. If you’ve got the camera already- they rent for maybe $50-100 in any major city…

May 21, 2010 at 10:53 pmAlright. Figured it out with no p2 card. I knew it was possible. I do have p2 cards, they’re just rented out. Thanks anyway.

May 24, 2010 at 10:00 pmConnect camera to laptop via 1394 cable, use FCP DV100 capture preset, no machine control.
Each clip captures with 00:00:00:00 time code at the head though, no continuous code.
Matthew.
