Right, create a sequence the size of your output.

720p Prores is a great start. Don’t make your images any larger then needed, b/4 importing.

Large enough for a move. I find with really large images where you’re only using 20-40% of the size, will generate more moire, etc.

Export “current Settings” and compress that file for delivery.

Export your edit of 720×480 using “current settings”

Drop that file into your compression program and choose 640×480 as your output size, choose “maintain aspect ratio by” crop or cut.

Your audio files settings do not match your sequence settings. This will cause the need for rendering, not the best way to work.

Take all the audio files and convert them with Soundtrack pro or Quicktime or compressor and create them to spec:L

48k
stereo or mono
16 bit
.aif

no more problem.

Make sure the footage always has 48k, 16 bit from the camera to avoid this issue in the future.

NO.

FCP does not like working with non editing codecs.

Rip those DVD’s to DV50 or Prores. You’ll have better quality.
When done, export using “current settings” and drop that file into compressor to create your dvd files.

Always maintain the highest quality throughout the process.

If you shoot HD, but your going to SD DVD, you wouldn’t lower the quality of the footage. If hard drive space is short, get some more.

Normal. That is what interlaced footage looks like on the screen.
Always view footage on an external TV monitor.

Like Rafael, try a proressive sequence settings or verify match with footage.

Usually that error of “different length”, you can select OK, and it will be fine.

The other option would be to import those files. Lay then in the sequence and copy them. Then select the unlinked track and paste attributes~Content.

If you have other professional compression software like Episode, you can queue up many files for compression, using a preset, it is quick and painless.

I don’t believe so. In your sequence you have more then one dialog track and the viewer selects which one?

Like a multi-language DVD?
