    Interlaced can look good when going to DVD or Bluray and played on a TV set. Also good for fast action.

    Are you viewing this on an external video monitor?

    Make sure your Sequence settings has Anamorphic checked.

    I see you SD is already Prores, no need to change the compressor after the edit.

    Yes, to the amount of Footage.

    Well, if you truly are only going to SD Tape and web then I would edit in an SD sequence.
    You’ll be able to move the HD material around and re-frame all you want.

    However, the HD is Progressive.

    Drop a SD clip in a new sequence and let FCP match it.
    Next delete the clip back out.
    You can make you SD stuff Anamorphic easy enough in FCP. Check the box in the browser. Change the clips b/4 putting back in sequence.

    Next drop in a 1080 clip with some motion in it and render it.
    See how it looks. It might be fine due to the 29.97

    When the edit is done, change the compressor to prores422 and fully render all and export using current settings.
    Take that file into your compression program to make the deliverables.

    Deinterlace – LAST – when creating the webclip.

    Did you convert your 5D footage b/4 editing?
    If you had, then choose File Export – current Settings – it would export in 3 minutes.

    On a mac? Then DV50 would fine for a digital Master – Archive of old VHS footage.

    On a Win? – AVI, codec- not sure.
    Not .h264 though. That is best for delivery.

    When in a hurry or not sure, You can hit your auto exposure on the lens.
    Aways WB – just like any other camera.

    As far as the others, you’ll need to paw thru the pdf manual or spend some time with it to dial it you look.

    But it’ll make pretty pictures no matter what.
