    Mmhhhzzz … I made that new layer in an extra comp and then moved it over to the new one. Also the Quaker is expression driven and inserts no keyframes into the layers.
    So when I drop that layer in, it somehow affects the position of all others

    Hi there …
    as far as I understand your effect is more like seperation of layers giving the whole thing that very cool and strange feeling of beeing 3D somehow.
    The trouble with this method is that it works for still images, but not for moving images.
    I want this sort of 3D holographic look for an opener for a DVD full of old fashioned 8mm footage.
    The images would need to sort of “bleed” into z-space …

    Anyway your tip is also very cool!!!
