June 4, 2007 at 10:41 pmGet Trapcode’s 3D Stroke plugin. That should do it for you, or at least get close to what you can do with 3D software.

June 5, 2007 at 2:10 amMark Simpson, a great guy and former AE Forum Leader had a tutorial that created a tree growing. He used Advanced Lightning. The results are pretty close to what you want. I suggest you take a look at that ASAP. The only problem is, “whatever happened to the link to the AE tutorials???”
Anybody knows how to get to the AE tutorials section?
