Are you using a seamless texture just like when you map textures on spheres in 3D apps?

Yeah, except the streets paved with gold bug me. First of all I prefer platinum – gold’s a little tacky. Second I question the gold exchange rate in Heaven, and most importantly my Bike would get horrible grip 🙁 I’d keep wadding everytime I try to grind a golden railing 🙂

[Wally] “I actually want a figure to look like they are in heaven.”
So just get a picture of a giant computer store with video games, cars, and bar-B-Que for the background 🙂

If you use AE you should be familiar with a layer’s ‘track matte’. A track matte allows you to take either the luminance or the alpha info of another layer and apply it to the current layer. In AE this is done by putting the layer you are borrowing from directly above the one you are applying it to. On the bottom of the two layers next to your transfer mode menu there is the track matte menu. You can set it to luma or alpha. If there is a mask on the top layer it affects the alpha of that layer. If the layer below it has it’s track matte set to alpha it will steal that masked alpha from above.
For details on track matte, alpha channels, etc, check your manual or what I highly suggest: Read Chris and Trish Meyer’s 2 books “Creating Motion Graphics”, and “AE in Production”

My friend was the one who did the water drop going down the side of the Corona bottle. He actually did it by hand painting a greyscale map in AE and using that map as a displacement map. It looksed incredibly real.
However in general terms I agree with the other post that it’s probably best done in a true 3D app.
Maya: use blobby partciles
in C4D: Use instanced spheres to particles inside a metaball object.

Man, Monet is awesome! But 16k is redonkulous for tracking software of anykind. I could understand 3 -5k maybe but 16? Just like Synth Eyes and 3D trackers, some programmer is going to use the same algorithms to simulate Monet and sell it for a few hundred bucks I predict.
