Cool. I would still use Quicktime with an uncompressed codec though instead of something compressed like Jpeg.

I would do it as a practical effect. Real lights would be substantially less work than the tracking issues. It would be as real as possible. Furthermore it will dynamically affect the scene (the light would play on real objects). Then if the lights are bright enough. With some levels work, in post you can possibly isolate them for interesting effects. Like trails (from echo) or highlight blurs of specific colors.
Look at the Making Of The Video out right now for the Foo Fighters’s video “Best of You”. They dressed guys up in suits with lights on them for a composite element.

The humorously low price of $99 for the upgrade is the most obvious purchase choice anyone should ever make. Especially if they call themselves a business that uses AE as a tool. Color Finesse is normally several hundred dollars. Free with AE 6.5. Cycore Plug-ins. Free with AE 6.5 Animation Presets that save you hours and maybe days of keyframing time: included in 6.5. Scriptability. More professional inteface color (discreet dark grey look is possible) for being in front of clients. Solids will re-rasterize. Way improved caching: Huge time saver. Far better tracker (although still lacking true pro qualities). The list goes on and on for once again a joke of a price: $99.

If the movement of your subject will be unnaturally fast, then it may be worth a test to put it to 1/250 or something. But under normal circumstance, it shouldn’t be a problem.

Just to clear the obvious: Your render resolution is the same as your timeline resolution in your NLE, yes? You are using an uncompressed codec?
