  • Not sure exactly what you seek, but I just hold down the option key and right click and mouse slide to zoom in and out. Basically the same camera controls that Maya uses.

I just did this the other day. Use the ‘point’ Xpresso node. Drop the sphere into it. Take the output of the point node and pipe it into a Psetdata that has a Pborn input. Then use a copy of the Point node to get the number of points out to set the shot input of the Pborn. That way it will only create as many particles as there are points in your object. Then obviously, also pipe the PBorn into a PShape so you can instance an object to the points.

If you want it to be randomly placed and not on points, use the Psurface node.

Set it to straight alpha instead of premultiplied alpha when you render out.

Also search ‘ken burns’ (whoever that is). He seems to be synonymous with that effect.

Not the best for now. Don’t know that there is a plug-in replacement. I, (and others I’ve seen) use Commotion for tracking and move the keyframes over to AE. Other good trackers are in Combustion, and Shake.

However, search the posts for the past month or so and someone created an expression that allows you to do two tracks in AE and average them giving a better result.

I mostly use the B splines (“Rotobezier”) rather than the bezier especially for “organic” shapes. I use the bezier when doing hard edge shapes. I find that B splines are easier to animate because for they react the way I expect them to and are more simple creatures to deal with.

But that’s just me (probably mostly because I’m not to good with bezier).

Have you updated the plug-in from Maxon’s site? Mine didn’t work at all, I updated the C4D to AE plug and it worked great.

Are you judging this by looking at the same output monitor?

The gammas of macs and PC are different as far as comp displays.

July 26, 2005 at 9:39 pm in reply to: TYPE-ON with Cursor

Hmmm, I don’t remember there being one in the Final Effects set. Seems most final effects are included in AE 6.5 anyways as the CC plug-ins.

However the Image Lounge plug-ins has exactly what you seek. It does type ons with cursors of many different sorts. It will also auto blink them for you as well if you wish.

Just a type on is a cinch using AE’s text animations, but the cursor is a little bit more of a bear.
