I mostly always use Fotomagico for this. It is the easiest and fastest method I have tried, and it is smooth as butter.

    Jeff,

I use an A1, same chips as an H1, one of the biggest shortcomings of these are noise in low light. In addition to the good advice you got here, is try video purifier from Innobits. It takes some testing to get it right but it is the best noise reducer I have seen. After Effects comes in second.

    David,

Well, I totally agree, and the bride, (my art director) has spent 9 months planning this thing, including a 3 page shot list for the event. And, me and my assistant who is also shooting have spent a few hours planning and going over all the details, which resulted in this post, so preparation has been duly covered and important. So your comments are valued much, thanks. Wish you were here.

Jeeze, thanks a lot Bogie. Mark, I think the lav idea is good, and I also agree about the mixer comment Richard. BTW, I have shot about 6 weddings, including both of my daughters and a couple friends and nieces, and I HATE doing these. There’s no recourse for bad audio or a jet plane going over (it’s outdoors) and there ain’t no retakes.

I guess I was mostly interested in what you all think about my mixing the two different cameras ans shooting DV anamorphic. Do you think that’s okay?

Sorry Shane, I missed that, but Arnie backed me up. Course, the photo couldn’t show the whole rig, my Panny plasma is on a shelf to the left.

  • I totally agree, going to HDV is a really bad choice.

Whenever I have this problem, nearly all the time trashing prefs and restarting fixes it. But you also my need to dump your caches, use Leopard Cache Cleaner for that.

I think the solution is to upgrade to FCP 6. Not sure v. 5 can handle that. Anyone?
