The Nattress filters are pretty good, but they do just soften the grain. After Effects does a great job also.

We need to know what you want to do with HD, and how you want to deliver it. Also more about your whole system, as you may need significant hardware to fill the above bill.

Apple have a complete list of compatible devices on the web site. There is not a “best” notation by brand or model in any way shape or form. Use an approved device you like the best.

You really should just read the specs on each carefully, I see the Decklink card as capable of cross conversion of HD formats, while I believe the Kona can do full blown upconversion. Don’t know if you need that, but Blackmagic make great products, I’ve owned both, and I prefer AJA products. The support is unbelievable. Plus, the HDMI scheme on the BM card is ridiculous, takes up an extra slot FCOL.

Well,
I haven’t been able to Edit to Tape with 5.1 drivers for two months. This afternoon I put in 6.0 and everything went back to normal, I made 8 station dubs all of which were perfect, so go figure. OS 10.5.4 QT 7.5.
