Ive done a clean install back to 10.4.11 and re-installed FCP and QT up to 7.3.1 hopefully everything will be running smoothly from now on. i would be interested to hear if anyone is still having ETT issues with dropped frames (or even during injest) on 7.4.1 i cant find any info online to suggest that the DRM searching has ceased, implying that the problem is still present. were using a 9TB editshare for storage so dropped frames should not be happening at any point in the process.

Im not sure i fully understand your problem? how do you mean you have 2 separate video clips in the timeline?

We have the kona 3 card in the online and decklinks in the offlines. the kona 3 is set up with -1.5 capture offset and +1 playback offset. the black magic is 0 capture and +4 playback. these settings give us frame accurate TC on digi without adjusting anything in the FCP timeline, assuming your ETT TC settings match the sequence settings. something like a gen10 will give you genlock, however sending a looping signal back from the deck out of the component output will give you accurate timecode as well.

check your playback offset in FCP’s device control tab. it should be + or – 1 frame depending on whether your offset is before or after your sync frame.

id already dumped prefs and repaired permissions, did it again but no joy. i did recently use pacifist to roll back QT to version 7.3.1 could that of damaged the OS in some way?

unfortunately not. we have sapphire v2. demo plugins installed, tiffen 55mm and the old v7 dft filters (no longer in use as they are ppc versions)

unfortunately this has not resolved our problems, the audio is still dropping out and what audio is recorded has random clipping. is this a bug that has come with an update of fcp?

ive tried rendering out a stereo mix-down of the audio and rendering that and still no dice

    any other suggestions anyone?
