    hi all,

were having some trouble getting FCP to edit to tape successfully.
ive been looking on forums and realise this is a know issue but i havent been able to find any solutions that work for us yet. heres our workflow:

we have uncompressed 10bit sequences captured using a blackmagic card (embedded audio over SDI). we want to ETT a sequence for an audio dub. we can get picture but sound drops out after a few minutes. we’re sending audio embedded over SDI.

could it be any of the following?

device control settings; TC set to LTC or LTC&VITC (when set to LTC & VITC the LTC timecode flashes as though its not getting a full signal) when set to LTC only we seem to get steady TC and about 6mins of audio before crapping out.
The audio mapping settings not matching the audio settings in either the blackmagic preferences, the A/V devices settings or the capture settings?
ie having the correct amount of channels, bit rate and Khz.

the ETT settings, again having the correct amount of audio channels selected (in our case only 2 as the audio is for reference only)

a setting in the deck itself that we have over looked?

something to do with blackmagics card or connections? faulty connections or a preference setting?

do you think this would happen if we sent audio over AES using a kona3 card?

Also I found that for our Decklink HD Extreme cards the frame offset is 3.

    Cheers

unfortunately this has not resolved our problems, the audio is still dropping out and what audio is recorded has random clipping. is this a bug that has come with an update of fcp?

ive tried rendering out a stereo mix-down of the audio and rendering that and still no dice

    any other suggestions anyone?
