I’m duplicating this setup for a Kona 3. What are the 4 transformers mentioned after the ADA4?

I have to give props to ProAVIO as I just got the
EditBox 10pm
https://www.proavio.com/eb10pm.html
The throughput is awesome.. and beats out my other GSpeed.
And whats more the customer service is amazing.. The first box i got has a issue with one of the Port Multipliers.. I live in Los Angeles and was under a tight deadline on a project.. they personally dropped off a new box which has been solid ever since. I HIGHLY recommend this company and their product.

well, my media is around 5 minutes long for each clip and i’ve now tried it on a G5 dual 2.5 over network storage as well as a connected firewire 800 drive and a G4 dual 1.25 over a dual scsi drives as well as the same firewire 800 from above, and i find it happening all the time. From both the viewer and the canvas window and only happens when you move at high speeds and or scub through the clip or timeline.
I know some people aren’t having this issue, but i’ve notice that when i move a bit slower in selecting speeds it doesn’t seem to happen as much… So for those of you who are less punchy with your buttons You’ll probably not even notice… and those of us who are impatient, we’ll just deem it a nuisance, Lets hope for a update soon.

Tom,
check it out, it’s more so with the viewer and not as much with the timeline. Playing forward in the viewer double time is mostly where i see it. But it also happenes occasionally in the timeline. You know its occurred when the picture freezes and the playbutton is still highlighted… it stalls for several seconds then catches up to itself. If in that time you start to click around in that bar under the viewer…you’ll confuse it even more and it takes even longer to catch up, but you’ll see it as it moves through all the clicks you made, seconds from the time you did it. It feels a bit like version 1 in that way.i’m working all day today with 5.0 and it seems pretty consistent now.
Let me know what you find out.
thanks

Tom.
I believe your questions are geared toward isolating the problem, however none of this should matter. A timeline should play regardless of the length (with in moderation, of course)But in good spirit of this forum, the sequence was about 4 minutes long and roughly about 25 edits and no more than 2 layers of video…. ON that one…but today i’m cutting on the dual 1.25 g4 and with just one layer of video and two of audio, i get a pause frame intermittently when moving in higher speeds through the cut. I check to see if FCP has crashed, check my email and come back and it has caught up to it self. Not good.
in regards to the drive question. All media for a specific project should be kept organized and together whenever possible, i’m aware that some people scatter all of their material over several drives, but not me. I run a TV channel on dish network with Final Cut Pro, where we crank out 40 hours of programming a week… i can not afford to operate like that. Media gets lost or deleted if not kept together and in some sort of structure. So my project is on one drive.
Hope this helps. -
I’m using a Aja IO on a G4 dual 1.25 as well as a G5 without any third party device and the problems are still there… I know all of you would like to believe this product is better then 4.5 but it just isn’t yet. I’m hoping that the point release will clear up these issues but until then it’s not ready for any work place.
Sticky view an timeline is the worse. everything else i can deal with… but please do not stop the the workflow and the ability to play (at any speed) and stop are essential

I’m sorry guys, this version of FCP is Buggy. I’ve now done clean installs of the OS (tiger) as well as the Creative Suite on two different systems, Dual 2.5 G5 with a Blackmagic card and a dual 1.25 G4 with a Aja IO, and neither work well. I’m encountering sticky timelines and a real general “slow to act” functionality of the Program. Maybe it’s tiger, maybe it’s the application but definately a problem. I’m holding off installing it on any more machines until the (point) release.
Another problem is a reconnect malfunction i encountered, I connect to media over a network and when FCP cant’ seem to find a file. it asks for (blank), nothing the name is gone. it was there before because i imported the files from the network and the link would have been created then. but somehow when FCP lost the connection it lost the name of the file too. So i had to click one my one to reconnect all the files. BAD FINAL CUT BAD.

Yeah, i’ve noticed it both on a dual 2.5 g5 as well as a dual 1.25 g4… i think it’s called “Sticky timeline” i’ve read other things about it, so try searching on that.
