I’m working on a feature length documentary (may turn in to TV series).

    CPU Specs:
Mac Pro Quad Core Intel Xenon
    3GHz
    Dual Processors
    1.6 GHz Bus Speed

I have a 1.5TB internal drive for media. I’ve filled this up and would like another drive.
I could install a card with another Firewire or eSATA bus.

Any Suggestions in the way of:

    Internal or External??

    eSATA or FireWire?

Any brands people like (and why)?

Right now I’m leaning toward an external eSATA but I’d love input.

David Weiss has a 4 bay Firmtec SATA array for sale, he tried to sell it to me yesterday but I already have one. Click on his picture and do an email, I’m sure it’s a great deal.

    Have a wonderful day.

Just don’t go for seagate drives, unless you don’t want to use RAID on your drives. I’m having problem with firmware and seagate don’t want to hear about it.
My advice : wait for some time to have 2To drives on the market and go with WD or Hitachi.
Then, put them internal if you can, or find an external enclosure – maybe with 4 plugs : Firewire 400/800, USB and eSATA.
Have a look at ProavIO or Enhance tech chich are making really good and cheap RAID enclosure.

I have to give props to ProAVIO as I just got the

    EditBox 10pm

    https://www.proavio.com/eb10pm.html

The throughput is awesome.. and beats out my other GSpeed.

And whats more the customer service is amazing.. The first box i got has a issue with one of the Port Multipliers.. I live in Los Angeles and was under a tight deadline on a project.. they personally dropped off a new box which has been solid ever since. I HIGHLY recommend this company and their product.
