My thoughts exactly. If this is sent to the manufacturer the entire board would need to be replaced. Not to toot my own horn, but our facility has the equipment to replace the chips on the board itself. Make sure you find any way possible to repair the board where ever you decide to take it to so you can save some money. Good Luck!

Our only issue with the updating on the firmware is Sony’s serviceplus site has been undergoing maintanance for going on two weeks. However we were able to get around it by replacing a lens in a unit with the updated firmware already installed we had in stock. Got it outta here same day

Be careful with using adhesives like glue on that camera. Especially the battery compartment. I would honestly suggest to get a professional opinion at a reputable service facility.
