As I mentioned in a similar post, the only issues with the Panny 1700’s is the constant dead pixel issues and lines across the screens. Much more common issues in these models than others

Are you seeing this image on your monitor when shooting on a white background? If so it could be a panel issue.
We have worked on dozens of these units. Its is a common problem, but I can assure you it is not “normal”.

Might be a problem in the main board. Older DVX 100’s (and really any camera of that age) will have these unfortunate incidents. Not to say a certified service center couldn’t bring it back from the dead 😉

its possible the switch block control might be gone. im sure its something a service center could help fix. *ahem*
