    Hi all –

I have a DVX100 that was shooting fine up until a few weeks ago.

It shot fine for a couple of years, we used it for a 3 hour event then shut if off and packed it up.

The next time we took it onsite, powered it up, and the LCD screen/viewfinder is black.

We ran through menu settings trying to see if something had been accidentally set, and can’t find a problem.

We’ve hooked it up to a monitor using the S-video out, and the Firewire connection to see if we could see video as bypass, but no go.

    Any suggestions?

Take it to an authorized Panasonic service center or give it a nice funeral. Sounds like it served long and well…

Might be a problem in the main board. Older DVX 100’s (and really any camera of that age) will have these unfortunate incidents. Not to say a certified service center couldn’t bring it back from the dead 😉

Did you figure this out? Was it just your screen or did the entire camera not start?

I had a similar problem last month where I blew out the main powerboard. I took it to HiTech in Chinatown, NYC and they fixed it for $350.
