    Did you shoot in 24P?

If you shot in 30P you won’t need any 3rd party software.

There’s a workaround post about this in the HDV forum.

FCP 5.x doesn’t support it yet.

Apple is trying to implement it properly instead of bandaiding the application.

matt I think your talking about having a stable component connection back and forth.

You could try routing a cable from the synch pass through on your beta deck into the multibridge synch in. That might work.

    [mortimer heathcliff] “HDV – 720p30”

HDV – 720P30 is the preset you want if you shot in HDV mode.

Yeah most of the time you can indeed plug in firewire live and that was the intent from the get go, but it seems there is something about apple systems that the 6-pin (2 for power 4 for data) firewire port is live when it shouldn’t be and it can easily smoke the firewire ports on camcorders.

Most rental decks with a firewire option usually have a notice inside the case saying you smoke it you pay for the repair.

JVC has stated they will repair a blown firewire port 1 time as a courtesy.

LED backlighting should help things quite a bit after it finally comes out.

These actually have an off state for black and can produce much higher precision color.

    Agreed.

This UPS clearly doesn’t output the amount the G5 Quad required.
could be a defective unit I suppose.

[zrb123] “that camera will not downconvert for you”

It will on the component outputs but thats off-topic 🙂

    I own an HD100u.

Make sure that the HDV/DV switch is set for HDV. Your LCD on the camera should be flashing text that says to switch it if you have not.

Make sure you load the easy setup and sequence settings for HDV 30.

If you still get nothing, then theres a good chance the firewire port on the HD100 is blown.

This can easily happen when plugging the HD100 into a mac that is turned on.

You should NEVER do this as its a known problem. ALWAYS power down your mac BEFORE plugging in a camcorder via firewire.

I should have mentioned that the specific interlacing people see is with the preview in DVD Studio Pro which cannot output live to a monitor.
