AMEN!
Had a client want to remove a key shot he needed because the movement
was really bad, but we had nothing to replace it with.The stabilizer made it smooth as butter…client was blown away.

try trashing preferences.
and if on a mac do a “repair permissions” with disk utility.

My experience has been that newer releases more often than not, speed
things up, fix issues and offer more stability if there was an issue with it.The only version I had issues with and avoided was the initial release of 2014.
All the other updates have been great and 2014.1 was especially good on the
new features. like being able to change an existing sequence’s frame rate for the first time. nice! -
what version are you on?
I think it was solved with 2014.1
at least it did when copying to other drives

I had a problem with it as well, not in performance but showing any prores footage
imported or existing as offline.look in your quicktime\plugins folder for anything out of the ordinary.
my issue was a DTS HD MA decoder. after removing, it fixed it.

Blu-Ray spec supports SD interlaced video, why not just import assets as they
are from the DVD project?Or does Do Studio not support SD mpeg2 import?
Whatever blu-ray player it plays on will be scaling it up to HD any way.

If you’re on a MAC doing blu-rays with Encore then blu streak tracer is a must have “post-fix”
end to the work flow. -
Its true I’ve not had to deal with that many tapes with broken time codes.
fortunately when I did, most of the time the client didn’t care what the time code
was, they just wanted files from tapes.So the “capture now” without machine control was the best
workaround for me. -
have you tried doing a “capture now” without any machine control?
I’ve been digitizing tapes as part of my job for 12 years.
Any time I run into a timecode breaking tape, I capture it
without machine control enabled, hit play on the deck, capture
on the app then afterwards, if necessary, change the source
timecode to what it needs to be.I own black magic and AJA cards. both work great. (2009 MacPro 4,1 though)
It would be a bit tedious with that many years of tapes, but it can be done.

And we can thank Fincher for a lot of the 2014.1 improvements.
Any time I have to go back to FCP 7.x its so painful by comparison.
