I had weird issues as well with the latest version.

I have since reverted to 2014.1

It seems like every other adobe release has issues.

I see you are on cs 6.

while the h.264 encoding is using cpu to do that cc 2014 introduced
gpu acceleration on export if any resizing is happening. It speeds
encoding up quite a bit.

I’ll just add to make certain you have a fairly high end edit
system with at least 32 gb of ram and a good GPU (ATI or NVidia) with 4gb of ram
on board.

I did some 4k a few months back and found those two items made things
easier to to deal with in 4k workflows.

Hey Dustin, be cautious with Seagate. They make the most unreliable drives of
any mfg. I’ve had several system drives go bad and lost data from them from crashing.

Backblaze even did MTF tests and found them to be the worst for reliable operation.

They found Hitachi to be the least prone to failure long term.

We backup this way but every drive uses the same rated power supply to avoid that. Lacie drives
in particular are known to have identical pinout connectors but different amperages. bad.

We store one set of drives on site and one mirror set offsite. at least once a year
they are powered up and checked. Have not had a failure or lost any data yet in 9 years.

LTO is the best option though as others say and that’s what the big motion picture companies
use to backup film assets.

I thought the main issue some are having is related to performance with OpenCL being enabled
and some sort of optimization issues with OpenCL and the FirePro gpus

It seems like that will all be solved once OpenCL development has matured
to where CUDA is with the Nvidia gpus.

I have not had any issues with colors being wrong, but I always make a custom color set
for highlights within Encore. I’ve never used the defaults.

They will appear wrong in the tracer app, but a burned blu-ray will show them correctly.

Sorry for the late reply, but yes, if you do a few blu rays a year with Encore
(which by the way is one of the GREATEST blu-ray apps available for non java authoring,but
has some broken things internally) Blustreak is definitely necessary. especially
for outputting images for replication which I have done successfully.

that plus the simulator it has built in saves a lot of time as well.

I’ve put together some really professional looking blu-rays with them.

And ya Robin has been so helpful even when I ask the most mundane questions.

I’ve seen those posts as well about the new mac pro issues.

We’re holding off another year until they get ironed out.

Seems to be an issue with OpenCL and apple/adobe calling
each other out on what the heart of the problems are.

Waiting primarily until OpenCL is as robust as CUDA.
