    Barry,

No access to a windows computer. I think the issue is with my P2 store.

I transfered the p2 media to a P2 store… so I suppose the error could have occurred there.

I’ve owned an HVX since its introduction… can’t say I use it much as I prefer my Varicam. Never the less, it must be reliable and I am concerned that I had so many unusable clips.

Does the P2 store require maintenance?

The Panasonic (mac) software had no repair feature in it. Does the P2 genie repair clips?

You would be better off using the best HD lenses you can afford to rent. The Fujinon E or C series would be my first choice. I personally do not think the Pro 35 is a good choice for a film print. Loss of light, ground glass artifacts, and a lack of depth-of-filed are the main problems.

High quality HD optics will generate a far superior image.

  • Less is more… that is my rule with makeup. Typically, I don’t like makeup on Men. I often ask men to wash their faces before an interview. . You can also carry a bottle of witch hazel and clean the oil off the face. Some shine is OK in my opinion. If you want makeup, go to Nordstorm or another high end store and buy some powder in a couple of different shades. Use it sparingly.

Professional makeup artists are a good resource as well.

Oops… I thought I was in the Varicam forum! I assume you were shooting tape….not P2.

You need to frame rate convert the footage in final cut pro. Only then you will see the over-crank effect.

Only P2 cameras can playback the over/under effects in camera.

Yes Bruce you are correct, the 13×4.5 is not a constant stop lens. The 15x is, however.

My guess is that Fujinon takes the best yields from their optics production and sets them aside for the C series. Better mechanics also contribute to better images.

I must also say that Fujinon’s customer service is second to none. Nice folks who are very responsive.
