I am importing footage from my P2 store to FCP 5.1

I have a dozen or so clips which will not import. I get a red ! next to the clip. Any ideas on how I can fix the footage? The clips are only on my P2 store, so a camera repair is not possible.

    Advice welcome.

Have you tried P2 CMS yet?

If that doesn’t work, try downloading the trial versions of P2 Log Pro or Raylight; either one may succeed where FCP didn’t.

The Panasonic (mac) software had no repair feature in it. Does the P2 genie repair clips?

no, its very simple and cant repair clips.
the question is, if your clips are really broken.
you can test it and download the p2genie demo,
    maybe your clips are ok.
    i use a p2store myself and i find p2genie very robust.

    best regards

Raylight/Mac does not “repair” clips but it can tolerate massive problems in the CONTENTS folder.

For example it can convert a bare MXF file (no XML or LASTCLIP file required).

It also does not read the MXF file beyond the header, so if the MXF file is trashed somewhere in the middle of the clip you will at least get the parts that are good.
