I can send it to you, Tom, and yes, it works in FCP5. Whats your e-mail?

That’s interesting. I’ve found the opposite to be true. I use Boris 7 with FCP5 every day with no problems. I tried version 8 when it first came out and had many problems. I’m curious as to what problems Boris 8 fixed for you.

  • Make sure the Canvas is set to “Fit to Window.”

Set up a new sequence with audio settings at 44.1 khz & 16-bit. Set your audio capture settings for the same. Should work fine.

They probably mean AC3 which is the same as Dolby Digital. Compressor WILL go below 5 mbs if you use the manual settings instead of the presets.

A MiniDV tape in a DVCAM recorder will yield an identical result, although the tape formulation in a DVCAM Cassette is supposedly superior, and less prone to dropouts. It is also more expensive than miniDV cassettes.

No essay necessary. Actually, in the past I have always recorded to another device first, and then brought that into FCP. I was just thinking about eliminating a step this time and going directly to disc. After-all, that’s how it’s done in most recording studios these days.

Thank you Thax. I’m going to print that out and save it for future reference.

I also had this problem with FCP4, but I discovered that if I just waited, instead of closing down the program, it would eventually finish and everything would be back to normal. Sometimes it could take 5 minutes or longer for the spinning ball to go away.
