Does the EX really have better low-light performance than the FX1? I haven’t been able to get e definitive answer on that. I can’t compare the specs, because they use a different method of measuring sensitivity. With 1/2″ chips, you would think that it is more sensitive, but I understand that CMOS chips are less efficient than CCDs.

I have two different Edirol recorders and they’re fabulous. They record to Compact Flash cards. Just plug the machine into a USB port and it shows up as another hard disk on your desktop. Just drag the song files into a folder on your computer. The machines record in MP3 or .WAV so you need to transcode them in Quicktime to AIFF in order to use in FCP, but it just takes a few seconds, no big deal.

Thanks Ben. I shoot the video portion in DVCAM, so you’re suggesting that I edit the program in a deinterlaced photojpeg sequence, rather than DV?

So the EX is a stop faster than the 300 in low light? Then, how does the 300 compare to the HDV 1/3″ cameras in low light?

I’m curious why no one has suggested Flash video. You can buy a great encoder for $39 (OnZ), the quality is great, it’s not blocked by corporate firewalls, downloads faster, and it’s universal.

Thank you Mr. Gutierrez. I’ll try that. Do I have to add my Render Files folders from each of my drives, or does this affect all folders at all locations with the same name?
