I just bought a wireless receiver bracket from Bracket 1. The bracket is designed for the Z1 and similar cameras, so the clearance is a bit tight, but it works fine.

So, the solution is to sort through hundreds of clips in the browser, and drag them into various bins? Isn’t there a more elegant way of doing this on import perhaps? It just seems like it’s going to be a tedious process.

I’ve done this before, and I wish I could remember precisely what I did, but I found the solution somewhere on this forum. What I do remember is that Quicktime does not recognize the 16:9 flag that automatically displays anamorphic video properly, so you have to manually set-up a special sequence with the proper pixel dimensions for a 16×9 aspect ratio (I’ve forgotten precisely what those dimensions are) and then manually unsqueeze the video using the distort function in the Motion tab. Then, after you export it, Quicktime will display it as 16×9. Perhaps if you do a search of this forum, you’ll find the original post that helped me solve this issue. There is something in the FCP manual about this, but it is rather vague.

I suppose that would work as well, but the problem is with the render files. You can also just disable Spotlight altogether.

Go to System Preferences/Spotlight/Privacy and drag your video and audio render folders into the window. This will prevent Spotlight from searching those folders. Since I did this, I haven’t had the problem.

The way I read this is that I either need to have all 512 modules or all 1 gig modules, but not a combination of both. Right or wrong? -
Maybe I misunderstood, but I read somewhere that for FCP, Apple advised against mixing 512 & 1-gig sticks, even if they were in matched pairs. However, I can’t find this info on the Apple site. Is it no longer an issue or was it ever?
