Is this a setting in Compressor? I don’t see a setting for Virtual Cluster. I do see a setting for “Allow Job Segmenting” which is checked by default.

Thanks for clearing that up, Walter. I guess I was thinking that the settings were supposed to match the source footage.

Yeah, unfortunately he doesn’t talk about or show examples shot in 60p. My footage was shot in 720/60p with shutter off (1/60) and my pans have a slight stutter, whereas footage shot in 30p with shutter off (1/30) look smoother to me.

That’s interesting. I’ve gotten very clean results with the receiver at -18 without changing anything in the camera.

No problem here. In fact, I’ve found the levels to be a bit higher than from my old DSR-300 DVCAM.

I can see the difference all the way down to the SD DVD, at least when comparing 1080 60i (SP) to 720 60p (HQ).

There was a bug in version 2.0 when using 2-pass variable which resulted in extraordinarily long encoding times as well as quality issues. In my case, I was working in DV) For a program of that length, there is no benefit in using 2-pass variable. Try using 1-pass fixed at a bit rate of 7-7.5. You should get a better looking product in a reasonable amount of time.
