Does Recording at SP Look as Good as HQ?
I’ve been shooting with the F-330 and F350 for two years and have always recorded HQ (70 minute recording capacity). We’re going through a lot of discs and in an effort to cut cut costs slightly, I want to record SP (90 minute). Is there a noticable difference?
We just ran some of the SP, 90 min, footage on a 50″ 1080i monitor and my editor thinks it looks ever-so-slightly flatter than HQ. Has anyone else done any tests? Thanks.

Unless you’re really really pressed for space I’d always shoot 35 Mbit. Look at it on a waveform and you’ll definitely see the difference.

I can see the difference all the way down to the SD DVD, at least when comparing 1080 60i (SP) to 720 60p (HQ).
