January 31, 2013 at 4:28 am in reply to: Issues creating a proper Vector File and importing to AEThanks for the suggestion Vincent but those don’t solve my problem. I tried flattening the image which helped with the color but now I have one image instead of layers.
Technically I can export each layer separately and import them separately into AE and I will try that next but that defeats the purpose of importing one file with multiple layers.
Anyone else willing to help out?

@ Jon.
Aside from the price can you tell me if there is a difference between these two Raid Controllers?https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816151107
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/857334-REG/PROAVIO_AC_1882X_AC_1882x_8_Port_6.htmlMy other question to you. Is the 1882x a better (faster) Raid Controller than the 1223x?
Thanks for your help

Thanks for your quick reply
I’ve been trying to do it in a quicktime movie. I basically want people to click on a few items at the end of a product video. I’ve read everything from being able to create flash to using keynote to create this.I finally found this. I just downloaded the trial program, I’m going to open it in a few minutes and try it out. https://www.techsmith.com/camtasia.html
I hope this will do the trick.

April 1, 2010 at 7:51 pm in reply to: HMC150 Footage Looks Darker After Transcoding to ProRes 422 in FCP Log and TransferI have a similar problem. Here is a link to a screen grab I created. The footage on my log and transfer side (the right side of the photo) looks the way it was shot but as you can see once it’s been transfered into FCP it is darkened. https://www.alstrinfilms.com/hmc150.jpg
Any thoughts or suggestions?
thanks

Forgive me if I’m reading your problem wrong but did you specify the location for L&T to read your files? In other words if you transfered your entire SD card to your desktop did you then go to L&T and choose “add custom path”? It’s the little wheel looking icon in the L&T window.

No, I’m using a sony deck that only allows 108060i. Pretty Bush league for sure. I now know why I didn’t buy an HDV camera. This stuff is ghetto.

Pro Res actually requires more space than your standard DV NTSC which is maybe what you want to be editing here. If you are editing in FCP 6.0 or higher then that supports multi formats in a single sequence without rendering, I apologize I assumed that’s what you were working in.
Media Manager is a way to have all your footage and continue to have a working copy of your project without all the extra footage you know you won’t use. Sure you can still keep it as a backup on another drive or something but for most purposes it’s pretty good. A handle is the amount of extra footage you want to keep on either end of each clip Media manager creates for you. So if gives you the option to create handles up to a certain amount of seconds.
To answer your original question though about working with all those different types of formats I would suggest using cinema tools to go from 29.97 footage to 24 or 23.976. Either way you look at it it’s never a good idea to have more than one or two different types of formats in a sequence it adds a lot of work to your project.
Is 24p your final output? Is that what the majority of your footage is?
