Just a quick update. I fixed the audio problem by installing this:
RealTek Audio Codec:
https://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsview.aspx?langid=1&pnid=14&pfid=24&level=4&conn=3&downtypeid=3&getdown=falsePlease just tell me if that was a mistake.
The rest of the post still applies, though. Thanks. 🙂 -
Hey John. Thanks for responding so quickly. I have reformatted the Windows Partition and reinstalled Windows 7, but now I have absolutely no audio at all. I’m not sure if that is related to my codec issue but I’m also unsure of how to solve it.
Anyway, I also reinstalled GSpot.
On some of the clips, just the video doesn’t show up, while the audio does, but then on other clips, the entire thing says “Media Offline” and none of it shows up.The codecs on the clips, once I put them into GSpot, are as follows:
XviD ISO MPEG-4
DivX 4 (OpenDivX)
H.264/MPEG-4 AVCBut it says that they are installed.
And then for clips that use this codec, “avc1” it says that the codec status is undetermined, but these are m4v files and these show up fine in Vegas, as do my clips that are wmv.
I am at a complete loss at this point. I really thought that getting this new, incredibly expensive macheine would solve all the codec issues that plauged my old laptop.
Please advise.

Oh, just to add something else that I forgot, none of the media is working. The music is “offline” as well as ALL of the clips. 🙁 That’s the problem that I forgot to mention, lol.
ETA: Okay, so I just tried opening my project again and the same series of errors happened, except this time, when I closed Sony Vegas, I got this error:
The MSSQL$SONY_MEDIAMGR service does not exist or the current account does not have enough privilege to manage it.

Tell me about it! And what’s even more strange is that I had one open Sony Vegas project that was working fine and then I clicked on the desktop icon to open up an empty project and suddenly it started freezing at the splash screen. It’s incredibly baffling!
I have not installed anything at all since the issue began.
I attempted to find the correct audio drivers but the gateway website is incredibly hard to navigate and simply confused me. 🙁
I’m at a loss. I really need to work on a few projects that are due this week and right now, things are looking bleak. Thanks for all of your help.

Hi John,
I’ve noticed it’s always you who winds up helping me with my issues.
Honestly, I’ve never done a single thing with my audio drivers, and to be perfectly honest, I’m not even sure what they are.
I did reboot, and I also rebooted in safe mode and it still wouldn’t start.
How would I go about updating the audio drivers to the latest levels?

Alrighty, I keep attempted to uninstall New Blue, but it freezes my uninstall program before getting anywhere on the progress bar at all. 🙁

Alright, so I don’t think that that clip was the issue anymore. I replaced it with a different version of the clip (the one I was using before was a .wmv format and ripped from a DVD. It is 78.4 MB. This new one is also a .wmv format but it was downloaded from the internet. It is 90.8 MB.) Anyway, after I replaced the clip and tried rendering it again, it froze right around the same spot.
I just tried rendering the rest of the project right after that clip, but it froze and shut down at 3%. Then I went forward one more clip and tried rendering again and I got this message:Error.
Process ID = 0x4dc (1244)
Threat ID = 0x-04(3844)
Program must be terminated. There are 5 clips after the one that I originally thought was the issue.
They are all in .wmv format and are all around the same size as the other clip. All except for one were ripped from DVDs.All of the clips show up in the timeline and they all also play on external VLC Player, Windows Media Player and BSPlayer.
Any ideas?

Thanks for the response! 🙂
I’m definitely beginning to think that’s its a corrupted clip. In fact, it stops at a specific clip every single time and won’t go past it.
I’m not sure how it was corrupted though because it was ripped just like all of the other clips I’m using and it’s the same file type, etc. I’m quite confused, but I’m almost positive that it’s that clip that is causing the issues.Any information I can give that could possibly solve this issue? 🙂
Thanks, again! 🙂
