After installing QT 7.6, I rebooted PC. Still had same issues.
I have Sony Vegas Pro 6.0d build 210. Still have the plug-in not properly initialized message.I’m stumped. I did a “repair” of QT in control panel and repeated process, still the same issue. Did an uninstall and repeated process…same issue.
Could my uninstall have affected any related plug-in? Is there a Quicktime plug-in in Vegas that could’ve been affected?
I’m at a loss.
Thanks,

Thanks for the reply Mike. I copied the QT .mov to my array and opened file in Quicktime Player. Audio & Video played back fine except that they were out of sync. Not a biggie as I figured I could sync in Sony Vegas.
Closed the player and loaded Vegas, tried media import… no luck. Tried drag and drop, no luck. Still getting the “plugin not properly initialized” message.
I’ve seen a number of other forums where people had the same issue that were solved by loading the “tools” along with QT player. Now when I downloaded the Free QT, all I had was an install command. Did I miss something else?
Thanks in advance,

No Problem, Roger. I wish I had a buck for everytime I have to go back and check settings on my Vegas. You would be amazed at the number of times my aspect ratio gets changed from 16:9 to 4:3.

You’re welcome. YouTube is a pretty good resource for How-To’s on Vegas. If you’re ever in a pinch, search YouTube.com

Thanks for the recommendations. I did a search and came across Filezilla (which is a free download ) and I found WS_FTP 12 Home which has a 30 day trial. Downloaded them both. The WS_FTP has a more visually friendly GUI and simple to use. I looked at a YouTube on FileZilla How-To and that helped a lot. I tried them both and both worked well. So not sure if I’ll buy into WS_FTP after trial period…I’m going to compare their features and decide before then.
Again, thanks to all for the info.

This may be a dumb question but have you checked the “View” menu settings in Vegas? (Alt+4)
Also check preferences and “Preview Device” and click the appropriate setting (i.e. None, Decklink, IEE1394, Secondary display).Hope this helps,

It’s the Masking / Blurring Tool. Here’s a quick tutorial link:

Thanks to all for responding. I use Sony Vegas Pro Vers. 6.0d Build 210. When I first started using it, I was capturing directly from a Sony PD100a (DVCAM) firewire and the thumbs were correct. Later I started shooting in HDV but captured in DV mode via firewire from a Canon HV20 and it worked fine for quite awhile. Only until the last couple of months have I noticed the capclip thumbs as being incorrect.
I’ve not adjusted any settings or changed anything to the best of my knowledge except that some projects are 4:3 instead of 16:9 and so that’s been the only preferences I’ve changed in my capture & preview prefs. Any suggestions?
thanks,

Thanks for the info, but I’m not sure I completely understand. How do I “encode” the text so that when the video is played at a TV station, they “decode” the CC?
