  • Thumbnail Issue on Captured Clips

Posted by Chas Smith on March 2, 2009 at 10:29 pm

Recently experiencing a problem with my Captured Clips Thumbnail. The thumbnails of my clips seem to be the last frame of the preceeding captured clip. I haven’t changed anything in my preferences.

Any ideas why this is happening and how to correct it?

    Thanks,

    Chaz

Which version of Vegas are you using?

How did you capture the clips and what format are they? If they are HDV and you used the Vegas HDV capture with scene detection on then that’s your problem. There is a known bug that does not correctly split on scene boundaries so you have frames from the other scene.

Thanks to all for responding. I use Sony Vegas Pro Vers. 6.0d Build 210. When I first started using it, I was capturing directly from a Sony PD100a (DVCAM) firewire and the thumbs were correct. Later I started shooting in HDV but captured in DV mode via firewire from a Canon HV20 and it worked fine for quite awhile. Only until the last couple of months have I noticed the capclip thumbs as being incorrect.

I’ve not adjusted any settings or changed anything to the best of my knowledge except that some projects are 4:3 instead of 16:9 and so that’s been the only preferences I’ve changed in my capture & preview prefs. Any suggestions?

    thanks,

    Chaz

My only suggestion is to turn scene detection off. Other than that, I don’t know what can be done.
