Just an idea… maybe copy/duplicate a little section of your cut to experiment with, and try changing the composite mode on the title to some different modes and exporting it. Maybe another setting will work?

Do you have Compressor? Assuming you’re using the latest versions of everything… Go to your fop x share preferences and bring in this setting from compressor:
Something changed recently with alpha exports, but that’ll do the trick. 🙂

I’ve had one hooked to my 27″ iMac for 2 – 3 months. The length alone is super useful. Looks great and, if you set it on something about an inch high, lines up almost perfectly with the iMac screen. Hard to work on a normal aspect monitor now…. 🙂

If you can, maybe try rebooting your computer and then running FCP 7 without running Pr first. I’m not pointing fingers, but it seems like Pr, or something modified in the OS it’s trying to use, is the common denominator.

So maybe it’s not an Adobe problem after all??”Had you run Pr at all prior to opening 7? Also… do we all have Nvidia GPU’s? Maybe it’s something in the GPU driver in the system? (not the CUDA driver)

[Jeremy Garchow] “It looks pretty cool. I just wish it could write new XMLs pointing to the new footage so that more information could be translated.
I guess, with X’s better linking system, you could go through the trim steps, and then relink the sequence to new (truncated) material and send an XML from there. I wonder if that would work?
“Try it! 😉 Honestly, it seems like the developer is open to ideas, I’d email him. It seems like it’s about one step away from being able to do a true “consolidation” of an X project, at least the video and source audio. If it could write a new project XML for the trimmed clips it’d be awesome. You can already kind of consolidate audio with X2Pro-> logic->fcpxml->FCP X. But audio isn’t really a big deal as it takes up way less space… picture though…

[Paul Neumann] “OK. So I’m getting some of this in Power Point this morning as I’m fixing them to drop into an edit. Premiere Pro (nor any other Adobe app) is not open.
Let’s start pointing our efforts to Apple and Nvidia.
“Interesting, I wonder if Pr and PP use any frameworks/drivers/etc. in common? All I know is that this does not happen at all when I run any other other NLE or video app. It pretty much always occurs after running Pr. Which sucks as I’m working in it now….

Agreed. FCPX is the best logging tool ever. It’s a great accessory for cutting in Premiere 😉
“It’s not just the logging, but the ability to “visually” audition stuff. And, although we clearly disagree here, X is better to cut in too. ;-p But, if you’re forced to use Pr, you definitely need a copy of FCP X running in tandem to speed everything up. For what it does, it’s a pretty good deal for a Pr plugin. 🙂

[Scott Witthaus] “You want pain? Try going back to edit on Premier. I gotta do that soon for a client and I am dreading it!”
It’s not bad. When I’m in Pr I keep X open with the same media. Finding stuff in X and then quickly locating it in Pr is much faster than trying to find stuff in Pr alone.. 😉
