Thank you so very much. Something you said about starting a new project, and an e-mail I got from Joshua at Blackmagic, rang the bell in my head, and oh god did it ring loud. It is working fine now. Somehow through blind luck I had not had any problems just not really doing anything with the settings when creating a new project. Now what I need to know how do you change settings once a project has been established? So I can change from DV to Blackmagic settings.

This is a Blackmagic Decklink SP running in an IBM 2.80 Ghz dual processor. Main video card is ATI Saphire Radeon 9600 Atlantis. The ATI has two computer monitors tied to it. I have the Decklink hooked to a router both input and output. This was working, and I am not sure what happened that it quit working. I can get output from After Effects in Preview mode, but can’t get an output from Premiere Pro. I have been working with Decklink Tech Support to try for a solution, but so far we haven’t found one. That is why IO thought maybe someone working with Premiere Pro might have a suggestion.
I hope this is enough info.

Guess I left out I am on a PC. I have been unable to use the stand alone capture and print to tape that came with Decklink, just haven’t figured it out. I’ve been using Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0.
It had been working fine then all of a sudden it isn’t working. I can capture ok just can’t see an output.

There you go. They both said exactly what I would have said, so now you have three people saying, the beat of the music and the accents of the music and the feel of the music should drive you, but not toward editing on the beat. Use the music to drive your video but let your video give forth it’s own atmosphere with the music as it’s punctuation.

I guess I should have been more explicit. Add edit is an Avid term, meaning cut the clip at the point of the curser, so you can delete, or overwrite the section before or after. The razor blade tool in Premiere Pro is a little awkward for me if a keyboard split or whatever you wish to call it could be used.

Thank you guys very much for your responses. I found in a post from Jon concerning a totally different question where he mentioned turning off compression I did that and everything is working great.
God I love the COW. We have a very good family here.

Never mind. I found my answer in another thread, not under my search criteria’s but there it was. It was simply the uncheck compression when saving.

Maybe I asked the wrong question and in the wrong forum. I’ll ask in the Zaxwerks forum why my Pro-Animator doesn’t recognize my Illustrator file as a valid vector graphic.

That would have been my second choice. I figured I would find an answer specific to Premiere Pro in the Premiere Pro Forum much faster than in the Blackmagic Forum.

That is the real concept. Invisible editing? I personally have never liked that term. No edit is totally invisible, if you are looking for it, or are aware it happened. I prefer the term tranparent editing. Edits should not bring attention to the edit, but should bring the audience into the scene by capturing their attention totally on the scene.
I totally agree the plane description is not a good, invisible, or even transparent edit. The speed alone would be jarring, not to mention background, foreground, etc.
