Are you talking about internet? Or over a local network? We have a system to transport streaming video through our internal network system. The transmitter takes video input and converts it to a signal that can be sent to the receiver with a static IP address. We used this to send the Jimmy Buffett concert from the Flamingo Pool area through our corporate network to the Marquee on Las Vegas Boulevard in front of Ballys Hotel. It converts the stream to mpg video at the receiving end. It worked great and looked and sounded very nice.

I find it so refreshing that others are saying what I am saying. I remember when 3/4 came into existence. The quality was really very low compared to what we had been doing. Then 1 inch came along and quality standards went up. Beta came along and 3/4 was on the shelf of obsolence. When I first started hearing and reading about High Definition I was so excited. Now that it is happening with the influx of digital video and HD I am so disappointed. There are no quality standards anymore. Everyone wants cheap and fast. Now we are looking at video on your cellular phone tiny screens compressed so high with no resolution to speak of at all. Will things take an upward turn? I am thinking that it isn’t gonna happen. Quality in broadcast and video overall is totally a thing of the past. Plus we are starting to see the moving away from talent in acting and replacing actors with CGI images. Is nothing sacred anymore? I think not.

Thank you Mike, that is a little soft which was one of my concerns. That wasn;t missing lines, but not as clean as I can get from AE. I think I will take Vincents suggestion and keep doing my graphics in AE for Crawls.

Fuzzy, horizontal lines missing, font size was 38 white with small black drop shadow over live video. Video looked fine as it usually does. Graphic looked clean before rendering. No third party items involved. As I said earlier the same font rendered as an AVI from After Effects looked very clean, then I rendered to mpg with Vegas Video. It is clean.
I attempted to render from Premiere Pro to both AVI and to MPG2 neither worked. I am trying to learn Premiere Pro to use it more, but so far I haven;t had a lot of luck. I have a lot of friends that swear by it, why can I not get clean renders. I currently am using it for digitizing into my computer then using other progreams to edit etc, then back to Premiere pro to transfer to Beta when needed. transfers to tape are clean, why can I not get a digital render to be as clean. It has to be something really simple.

I swear by Firstcom for all my music. They have the largest collection and have many musicians signed up for creation. You can get needle drop as needed or buy a contract. Use their musicquick search to find the flavor you are asking for. Stock footage can be quite expensive, so I haven;t used it in ages. Forget where I got what I used in the past. Probably do a stock video footage search and get a ton of sites.

Yup.
DVCPro 50 is a acquition product. MPG2 is a compression codec that is used for several playback systems. So in essence they are almost like comparing apples and oranges, or is that Dogs and cats? Next question would be what medium does he want? CD? Data DVD? Video DVD?
I get the feeling he was talking to someone and is basically name dropping because wants you to think he knows waht he is talking about.Anyhow hope you get the point.

I believe that is the key to many of us not getting into home videos. But is it only and excuse? I remember my sister commenting about me not ever owning a camcorder, being in teh industry, then she said but since daddy was a mechanic, ours was the only car in the neighborhood that had problems.
Grinner, you always seem to come up with things to make us all grin a little. That is why I like you so much. Hang in there buddy keep it going.

If there is a shortage of posts in Discreet, then it is probably a good idea to do something. I have noticed there are times when Art tends to really slow down and there is nothing there. I would rather see a combining of forums than a drop of a forum. I have probably been guilty of not posting enough lately, but there are times when I am just too dang busy to hand out. Sorry about that, but busy is good.

The absolute most important.I can’t say I ever used what some would call correct commands. I remember when an intern was telling me about her producing and directing class when she was directing cameras with her instructor over her shoulder. She told a camera to pan left, the other left, nail it.
Her instructor said your commands are very strange, and she replied that’s the way I hear it everyday.
She learned very well from me, I think.
Believe me freelance people have heard everything. You won;t be able to come up with much they haven’t, such as give me a “Micky Rooney.” (little creep) meaning extremely slow push in.

I never thought about FE Spotlight being exactly the same (at least control wise) as CC spotlight. I added CC spotlight and then just duplicated all controls, then deleted FE Spotlight. Worked great. I’m sure there is probably an easier way but only took a few seconds.
