  • New IP Video Technology?

OK, here’s the deal, someone approached me about the concept of using a new technology to transport video over the net called IP.

I’d like to talk to someone who actually knows about it or has experience with it.
is it practical? How does it work? What the heck is it?

If you’ve heard of it or have any thoughts please let me know. I appreciate your time.

Are you talking about internet? Or over a local network? We have a system to transport streaming video through our internal network system. The transmitter takes video input and converts it to a signal that can be sent to the receiver with a static IP address. We used this to send the Jimmy Buffett concert from the Flamingo Pool area through our corporate network to the Marquee on Las Vegas Boulevard in front of Ballys Hotel. It converts the stream to mpg video at the receiving end. It worked great and looked and sounded very nice.
