  • For months I was having problems with premier crashing that no one could help with. After extensive rams testing I had a bad stick of RAM.

I am now having this happen again. When I go to look at my scratch disks there are media cashe files but they are empty.

BTW I think the program changed my cash file preferences when I updated the software.

I vaguely remember that when I turned off file indexing in services in Won 7 this helped my speed, but can;t recall if it was related to issues with Premier. There are so many problems I cant keep track.

Thanks to everyone who helped me with this. The moral of the story is if you are getting blue screens it’s probably a hardware issue. I got the machine back after learning once again there was a bad stick of RAM. Replaced it all and now have 24GB of Kingston RAM and so far it is working great.

This 3d setting did not solve the problem. After months of trying and working on tech support, I finally got the advice to run a stress test on the CPU and Video Card. I had no idea there was such a thing. At any rate , looks like a motherboard problem, machine is on a truck back to manufacturer, hope they can solve it….Thankfully under warranty.

Thanks for all of your help and attention to this matter. I’ll try and post when there is a clear victory.

Yes. After 6 months of tech support, even with my own computer company, Polywell. I finally had someone suggest I run a stress test on the CPU and Video Card. Wouldn’t you know it, it failed the test.
It is on a UPS truck right now back to manufacturer.

    Thanks!

What I meant was there is an automatic fan Speed button I can click. I did not know what you meant by if this is idle? Do you mean are they changing much? Answer is no….

I did try something else tonight. I turned off all indexing on the hard drives I use for Premier, I notice a little faster operation and no more delay when I switch to email program for a moment…

Gonna turn in and get some sleep, please give me as much as you can and check back on me…i appreciate all the help!

Thanks. Once it is running do I just leave it alone or do I need to read it and analyze the data it gives me?
